Degrees and specialty certification offered by universities provide opportunities for poultry enthusiasts to work with researchers, professors and other industry experts. They can learn new skills and explore different fields within the world of poultry science.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">These programs are perfect if you have the ability to attend on-campus classes. Many of you, however, cannot spare time away from work, family and other obligations. Others simply do not live near a school offering these studies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">For those who would like to enhance their understanding of all things poultry, online certification is worth considering.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Read more: <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hobbyfarms.com\/learn-more-in-a-university-poultry-science-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Go beyond poultry-keeping basics with a certificate in poultry science!<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 class=\"p1\">Poultry Health Certification<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">The University of Minnesota\u2019s Poultry Health Certification is designed specifically for aspiring poultry professionals as well as for those already working in the industry. It is ideal if you seek to focus on poultry health and diseases that affect your flocks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The coursework features a completely online format with an emphasis on adaptability. Take one course per semester or register for more, depending on your own personal schedule. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, so you can <a href=\"https:\/\/poultrytraining.umn.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">apply for the program<\/a> at any time.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\">Poultry Management Certification<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">Presented by Ridgewater College, this 20-credit online certification covers such topics as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">poultry nutrition needs<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">environmental management for poultry production<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">poultry health management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">The program is offered via an educational partnership with Iowa State University, home to the US Department of Agriculture\u2019s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Services. Applications are accepted for either a fall or spring start <a href=\"https:\/\/ridgewater.edu\/academics\/areas-of-study\/agriculture-veterinary-technology\/poultry-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to your studies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Read more: <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hobbyfarms.com\/when-processing-poultry-visual-inspections-are-critical\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Keep both eyes peeled when processing poultry.<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 class=\"p1\">Poultry Meat Production Certification<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">Texas A &amp; M University (TAMU) plans on reopening its Poultry Meat Certification program in December, once migration to a new online learning-management system is complete. This certification program features such courses as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">Breeder &amp; Hatchery Management<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Animal Waste Management<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Poultry Meat Production<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">General Avian Sciences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">Course are all taught by members of TAMU\u2019s Poultry Science faculty. The program is fully online.
